Seasonal Celebrations: Advent Celebration

An advent is the arrival or coming of something. In the church we take the 4 weeks
leading up to Christmas to relive the first coming of Christ, and anticipate together
His coming again. We enter Advent together at Knox with a Sunday evening of worship
and creating decorations. Adults/families make an Advent wreath out of live greens,
while children create a variety of ornaments, gift bags,place
mats, etc. Children
can even donate some of their creations to the residents at the Bortz nursing home
in Ypsilanti, where our Deacons and other Knox members regularly visit. Watch for the family devotionals that are made available around this time, too!
