Evangelism Encouragers
Evangelism Encouragers at Knox Church
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you."
Matthew 28:19-20
The purpose of Evangelism Encouragers is to help all members of the Knox Congregation incorporate evangelism into their daily lives, and to help Knox maintain and achieve its original mission of reaching Ann Arbor, the surrounding communities, and the world with the gospel.
Jesus sends us, his children into a broken world to people who are groping in darkness, so that we can share the wonderful light of His love, His grace, His forgiveness of sin, and eternal life for all who would turn from their wicked ways to Jesus Christ, the Lord and Giver of Life. Each of us has been commissioned by God to be mbassadors for Christ. Ambassadors do not bring their own message; they are always envoys representing the president, ruler or King. We are Royal Ambassadors for the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Our prayer is that each of us at Knox would more fully live out our role as ambassadors in every sphere of our lives.
Knox Church is passionately interested in our local community and the people around us. We are involved in:
- Leading Bible discussion groups that include spiritual seekers in our workplaces,
neighborhoods, or among our friends
- Hosting Christmas parties, summer picnics, and other events to help their friends and
neighbors experience Christian community and learn about Christ
- Gathering and delivering gifts to the children of inmates via the Angel Tree program
- Being salty enough in their day-to-day lives to encourage those around them to ask
what makes them different - and then sharing the great gift of Jesus.
- Teaming up to share their faith and answer questions in their workplaces
We would love to hear more about any personal evangelism you are involved in, including both what is working and what is not working for you. If you are exploring Christian faith, we would welcome the opportunity to walk with you as you investigate who God is and learn how much he loves you.
